2D Canvas

You use the 2D Canvas to create your surface mining locations, stockpiles, fill locations, and processes and to define the material movement network, and assign resources to surface locations in GEOVIA MineSched.

Context Menus

To see the context menu, right-click in the canvas. The menu displays different functions, depending on whether you right-click in a blank space in the canvas or on a location.

Display Functions on the Blank Area Context Menu

Function Description
Zoom All Rescales the canvas to show all items.
Organise Organises the canvas so that the locations are laid out hierarchically based on material movement.
Show all material movement Displays all of the material movement arrows at the same time.
Show material movement for Selected Displays the material movement arrows for only the locations that are selected in the canvas.
Show default Collections Displays the default collections for development headings and production locations.
Copy image Copies the canvas to the Clipboard with a white canvas background. You can then paste the canvas as an image in other applications, for example Microsoft Word or Excel. Changing the canvas background to white facilitates printing.

Display Functions on the Location Context Menu

Function Description
Duplicate

Creates a duplicate of the selected location or locations. The location numbers are incremented and all of the properties for each location are duplicated.

Tip: You can use Duplicate when you have a number of similar locations. After you have copied the locations, you need change only the properties that make the new location unique to the originally copied location.

Delete

Deletes the selected location or locations.

Note: If you choose to delete multiple locations in a single action, a single confirmation form is displayed for all of the selected locations.

Centre on canvas Moves the canvas view so that the selected location is at the centre of the canvas.
Copy image Copies the canvas to the Clipboard with a white canvas background. You can then paste the canvas as an image in other applications, for example Microsoft Word or Excel. Changing the canvas background to white facilitates printing.
